There is a new artist haven in Baguio City and it opened itself to the world through series of tree planting activities. In 1997, The family of Hantos (popularly pronounced as Santos), a native of Ifugao, started to plant mahogany trees. At long last, the second season of the DECAT - WATWATWORLD Basketball tournament has pre-started in the first week of May. Now with 30 teams playing under 5 brackets, we will sure witness some of the best local players battle it out inside the basketball court.   There are at least 600 sports enthusiasts mostly from La Trinidad and Baguio city. Tam-awan International Arts Festival 2012

Tam-awan hosted a 2 day Cordillera song and dance workshop which was attended 50 participants from all over the Cordillera region. The first hour of the workshop was already fun and exciting when Mr. Benny Sokkong and group showcased the different Cordillera bamboo musical instruments. I was shocked to see a local newspaper with the headline "BSU to cut 50,000 trees for its housing project". I immediately bought the paper and read the details. Mayor Abalos said they were surprised when some of those who were awarded land in that forested area came and were trying to apply for building permits. The “virgin” caves of Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet

Last December 2011, we had the chance to explore two of the "virgin" caves located in the mountains of Sitio Piminggan, Barangay Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet. We tagged it as virgin because we were the first group of outsiders (not from the community) who entered the caves.
