How did Valentines Day start – History and Commercialism

DSC_0067

Since I was a kid I have been celebrating Valentines day by giving flowers to my mother and to some other women. But as we grow older, we can see the fact that Valentines day is becoming more of a big business day. This prompted me to research if there is really a Saint Valentine of the Catholic Church. Here is the result of my research. First and foremost, there are a lot of versions about what happened with Saint Valentine. The history will depend on the books of the Catholics, Protestants … [Read more...]

2012 Chronicle Of Watwatworld, A Journey To Self Fulfillment

IMG_0047 copy

I have seen many bloggers boast of their travels, hotel destinations or the restaurants they have eaten on as their top activities for 2012. Don't get me wrong, they deserve to boast because they worked hard for many years to reach that certain blogger status. I also had my share of sponsored travels, hotel and restaurant reviews as well as adventures. It is fun and rewarding. But I did not start watwatworld for the perks I receive in blogging, it is only incidental. Watwatworld is sharing what … [Read more...]

OMK? or OMG2? Baguio’s Latest Art Haven @ Assumption Rd

Ayus talaga si Tatay, Cool! :-)

Two days ago, a new artist haven in Baguio city "formally" opened to the public. As of this writing, I have no idea on what the name of the establishment would be. Jokingly, some people say "OMK", short for Oh My Karne, brother establishment of OMG, Oh My Gulay which is located on top of the La Azotea Building at Session road. I will still have to wait for the signage to be nailed in front of this unique and artistic coffee shop. Together with Sir Dong Ho of www.escapeislands.com, we went to … [Read more...]

After weeks of paper work and sleepless nights, We decided to have a breather and treat ourselves with a two day "vacation". First thing, the hotel is already fully operational and all the floors were … [Read more...]

POLITICS, SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE DISEASE THEY CALL PARANOIA SYET SYET

What-makes-a-politician-corrupt

Politicians are really paranoid that is why I try my best not to be seen with them in public places. Example, I was seen with a politician because we went to attend a school event after our tree planting activity. After a few hours, some people were texting me asking me if I am "working" for the politician... oh men! such paranoia! First of all, I do not work for any candidate or politician. I am very much happy where I am right now and I do not need politicians or candidates to survive. Second, … [Read more...]

“In all adventures, you should learn to appreciate the beauty of the place and what it offers and not comparing it to some other places you think is more beautiful – dean” I had hesitations when my brother Dex invited me to join the Ambongdolan caving adventure since I still have many articles to finish but after a few days of thought I said why not? So at 6:00am in November 28, 2012, the group assembled at Melvin Jones Grandstand, Harrison Road. The main organizers were Mr. Byd … [Read more...]

A Closer Look: Forest Lodge, Camp John Hay, Baguio City

hotel room 9 balcony

A few days ago we visited Forest Lodge, a newly opened hotel inside Camp John Hay, Baguio City. The way going to the hotel is already a great journey because of the scenic beauty of thousands of trees surrounding Camp John Hay. The hotel is located on top of a hill beside the Hotel Manor, John Hay's first hotel that opened 10 years ago. I have been to many hotels and establishments and I can say that the hotel staff of Forest Lodge from the managers down to the shuttle drivers are courteous … [Read more...]
