Sun Cellular – A touch of One Nation, One Community, One Connection

DSC_0061

I have been a Sun Cellular user since 2009. So far I am enjoying their broadband and mobile plan services. Yesterday, I got the chance to talk to Ms. Carissa Flores one of the digital marketing officers of Sun Cellular at the Hill Station, a fine dining restaurant on top of Session Road, Baguio City. It was a night of food and fun. After years of being a sun subscriber, at least I had a good and expensive meal in return :-) I am writing this article according to my years of experience in … [Read more...]

Ganito pala ang tinatawag na FISH SPA – Kultura Splash Wave Resort

aaa4

Sir Kurt Sebio invited me and my family to join them in their weekend getaway - the destination, Kultura Resort at Pugo, La Union. From Baguio City, Kultura is around 1 hour travel. On the outside you can see that the resort is big and very colorful. The parking space is also laudable. The entrance fee is a little bit expensive. For adults, we had to pay P250 and for children above two (2) feet, they entered at P200/each. Cottage fee is separate so we had to pay P1,500 for our cottage. … [Read more...]

Good Morning Club TV5, Accents and Petals and Me!

good morning club tv 5

Last February 01, 2013, I was invited by TV 5's Good Morning Club to feature our Accents and Petals products. The story started when someone from the show's staff ( Berna) contacted us through email then by phone if we wanted to showcase our products live during the show. At first I was hesitant because I have to travel from Baguio City to Novaliches, Quezon City but it was all worth it. I took the 9:30pm Victory Bus and I arrived at Cubao, QC around 3:30am. Someone from the TV network was … [Read more...]

seafood island technohub camp john hay baguio city

Last December 13, 2012, we decided to celebrate an important family event at Seafood Island located inside Camp John Hay, Baguio City. We arrived at 8:30pm, ordered dinner and after a few minutes, it was a feast! First thing, Seafood island is a destination restaurant. It is not located within the city center. Good if you have a car but for those who like to commute, you have to ride a taxi going to Technohub inside Camp John hay. Taxi fare from Baguio public market would be no more than … [Read more...]

Time Travel to Calle Crisologo, Heritage, Vigan City

Calle Crisologo Heritage Vigan City

Vigan City is known to be the Heritage City of the North. I had the opportunity to visit the city's different tourist spots courtesy of my host Richard Soria. There are a lot of old houses scattered all over Vigan. At first, it seemed like every corner is the same because the old building structures are as tall as each other. Then I came to realize that the whole Heritage City is shaped like a rectangle sliced so many times by small roads in between.  But there is one street that is closed … [Read more...]

“In all adventures, you should learn to appreciate the beauty of the place and what it offers and not comparing it to some other places you think is more beautiful – dean” I had hesitations when my brother Dex invited me to join the Ambongdolan caving adventure since I still have many articles to finish but after a few days of thought I said why not? So at 6:00am in November 28, 2012, the group assembled at Melvin Jones Grandstand, Harrison Road. The main organizers were Mr. Byd … [Read more...]

Shogun Suite Hotel, A new discovery in Pasay City

Shogun Suite Hotel, A new discovery in Pasay City

As a traveler, one of the most common problem is looking for a place to sleep especially in an area where you do not know anyone. By accident, I discovered Shogun Suite Hotel. I was tasked to process some paper works at DFA Manila office (Red Ribbon) and since I took the expedite procedure, I will have to wait for one day before I can get the papers. My usual hotel is located at Malate, Manila and so I went but alas, it was full. I then proceeded to Kabayan hotel in Pasay, near the MRT Edsa … [Read more...]

Ma Mon Luk, Quiapo Branch: the Origin of “Mami” in the Philippines

Ma Mon Luk the original mami

In the Philippines, "mami" is a common word used to describe noodles with hot soup and different toppings.  I have always wondered where the word "mami" came from until a few years ago when I discovered this old noodle house in Quiapo, Manila. The name of the restaurant is Ma Mon Luk and it specializes in Noodle soup. The first time I tasted the noodles was not a delight because it does not taste like the "common" noodles being served in Filipino restaurants. But on the second visit, I was … [Read more...]

Sapatos Festival, bringing shoes to the streets…

sapatos festival marikina city

I have witnessed some of the best marketing plans and this is one of those I appreciate. The Sapatos festival is a project of Marikina City wherein the city government sponsors a shoe caravan all over Metro Manila and calls is "sapatos" festival. The festival aims to promote and sell the Marikina made shoes and position the city as "still" the number one shoe making city in the Philippines. The shoe makers and factory owners themselves are the ones selling or assisting the buyer. There are … [Read more...]
