A few days ago we went to check out this pizza house along Leonard Wood Rd., Baguio City. The establishment was around since 2005 but it was the first time I came to know of the place. It was 8:00 in a rainy evening and we were all looking forward for a nice meal.
Zios Pizzeria is conveniently located along the highway so it’s not hard to miss. It has a good parking space and the establishment is well lighted. The first thing I always check is the toilet. Sometimes you can say a lot about a establishment by simply looking at their comfort rooms. I was pleased.
As for the pizza, the first I tasted was “Beef Melanzana”. It was made of cheese pizza topped with strips of beef and bacon, garnished with slices of onions, anchovies, mushrooms, eggplant and fresh tomatoes. The first taste was a delight. If you love eggplant and tomatoes, this is your kind of pizza.
The second pizza I tasted was the all time “Filipino favorite” called “Quattro Formaggi”. It was made of ricotta, cheddar, Parmesan and mozzarella. My first bite indeed reminded me of being “pinoy”. The taste is cheesy sweet. This pizza is highly recommended for kids.
Lastly, I tasted the “All in one” pizza. It was a thin crust cheese pizza garnished with lots of mixed meats, vegetables with complete garnishing. For me, this is the best of the three. It is also good for those who have an appetite for chilli sauce. Just spread the chilli all over and munch in the crunchy crust. Good for adults.
I had a great time at Zios. I even met an old friend Atty. Raymond Panhon who was also enjoying their pizza with a lot of chilli.
Zios Pizzeria is a local Baguio based business. I hope they can expand their business to other areas outside of Baguio city.
My recommendation: Good for young professionals.
