sex scandal 300x196 Sex Scandals in the Philippines INCREASING! Sad but TrueI’m sure you are aware of the  numerous sex scandals circulating worldwide. It is a disgrace to know  that the Philippines is the number one source of sex scandal in the world. The term  sex scandal is usually being equated to the Philippines or specifically sex scandal = Filipina. A reality that is both degrading to the supposedly beautiful/moral  image of this country.

To prove my point, go to Google or Yahoo and type “SEX SCANDAL”, you will be surprised to see that the first results will contain mostly links or videos coming from the Philippines with the emphasis on “Filipina”. Indeed this country is full of sex scandal videos. If you go to Quiapo, you will literally see tens of thousands of vcd and dvd copies of these videos being sold even at  the perimeters of the church.

scandal 300x225 Sex Scandals in the Philippines INCREASING! Sad but TrueIt is so sad to think that the Philippines, despite being the most religious Christian nation in this part of the world, is the number one source of sex scandal videos. It seems that being liberated and exposed, the youth of today is more adventurous and stupid because they allow themselves to be documented while in the act of having sex. And when something goes wrong or the relationship sours, the video ends up in the internet and the lady would cry out foul! This is the common story. However, Philippine sex scandal does not come from broken relationships alone. It also comes from secret videos installed in sex hotels, gang and fraternity initiations, office and school and actual rape videos.

Most people involved in sex scandal videos are the ones society consider as “liberated”. Those who enjoy nightlife, partying and drinking. They are the common subjects in scandal videos although the conservative ones are not off the hook. In the streets of Manila, I can see how liberated the youths are. They just kiss and hug and cuddle in public, something you cannot see a decade ago happening publicly.

It is hard to imagine how Filipinas working abroad will stand out proud of their conservative Filipino culture when the men they work with have seen one or more of these sex scandal videos. It is highly degrading. Having so many sex scandal videos is one reason why other nationalities do not respect us and look at Filipinas are mere objects of sex.

To temporarily solve this problem means to stop the selling of x-rated videos and imposition of harsh penalties to those who are caught selling. Why temporary? Because as I have pointed out earlier in my previous articles, once a video is uploaded online, it becomes part of the history of the world and even if you delete the uploaded video, the file is actually never deleted but remains in someone’s database or the video has already been copied a thousand times. This is the actual problem. In the online world there is no such thing as privacy.

To solve this problem for a longer term will mean starting from the source and that is “massive information drive” about the ill effects of taking videos while doing the “act” and this goes true even for those who are legally married. At least in this way, we can lessen the making of sex scandal videos.

  1. This is soo true.. I traveled in different countries as a missionary musician and it has been hard.. Well, here in the US at least they respect Filipinos because we are professionals here but sometimes they see Filipinos like they see Russians.. especially women- either professional or a mail order bride. There are times when I get tired of defending my people. When they see me, they usually think that I am not a Filipino but when they see my passport or when I tell them that I am indeed a Filipino they change their behavior towards me. It’s interesting though that usually our fellow Asians give me “the demeaning look” compared to other races.

Yeah… fellow Asians pa man din. At least you are doing your best defending the Filipino pride
